NC3 and 3M Recognize 2026 Skilled Trades Scholarship Recipients, Supporting the Future Workforce
The National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3), in collaboration with 3M’s Safety and Industrial business, has announced the 2026 recipients of the Skilled Trades – 3M Transformational Scholarship. The annual program provides financial support to students pursuing careers in technical education and skilled trades, helping expand access to training opportunities and strengthening workforce development across communities nationwide.
Investing in the Next Generation of Skilled Trades Professionals
This year, 52 students from across the United States received $1,000 scholarships during NC3’s annual National Career and Technical Education (CTE) Letter of Intent Signing Day. Inspired by the tradition of NCAA National Signing Day, the event celebrates students as they formally commit to career and technical education pathways and recognizes the importance, value, and opportunities available through skilled trades careers.

The 2026 NC3 Signing Day included nearly 90 ceremonies held across the country, bringing together students, families, educators, and industry partners to celebrate career-focused education. The events highlighted opportunities in high-demand fields such as manufacturing, transportation, energy, construction, and other industries essential to economic growth and innovation.
Creating Access to Career Opportunities
The Skilled Trades – 3M Transformational Scholarship provides more than financial assistance—it creates pathways for students to develop hands-on skills, earn industry-recognized certifications, and prepare for successful careers in a rapidly changing workforce.
According to findings from a 2025 Harris Poll, supporting hands-on skilled trades education programs in schools and providing scholarships or training resources are among the most impactful ways companies can contribute to the growth and success of skilled trades professionals in their communities.
